Lobstah, chowdah, and oystah

Although a staycation in the Catskills would definitely feel like a real vacation, we decided to leave our backyard to discover something new. Longing for some ocean breeze, our eyes fell on Maine, the most northeastern state in the US. The tagline on the Maine license plate actually says Vacationland and after this trip we can totally see why. The pictures will speak for themselves.

Our itinerary: Catskills NY – Ogunquit ME (day 1 – 5.50hrs/330 miles), Ogunquit ME – Kennebunkport ME – Portland ME (day 2 – 1hr/40 miles), Portland ME – Stonington/Deer Isle ME (day 3 – 3hrs/160 miles), discovering Stonington area (days 4 and 5), Stonington ME – Acadia National Park/Bar Harbor ME (day 6 – 1.5hrs/60 miles), Acadia National Park ME – Bangor ME – Burlington VT (day 7 – 6.50hrs/340 miles), Burlington VT – Catskills NY (day 8 – 4.50hrs/240 miles). Giselle conquered three new states (Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont), while they made us stop countless times during this trip totalling 1,401 miles (2255km) to suck in the impressive beauty of the fall foliage.
